Let it Snow
The Collingwood Optimist Club has decided to put together a series of online auctions to generate funds for the community. We are optimistic that at some point in 2021 we will be able to bring back the clubs biggest fundraiser the Mother of all Yard Sales.
In the meantime we have quite a few items that we will be auctioning off.
Stay tuned for more information.
Thank you to the recipients of our donations for creating such an amazing tribute video

On November 3rd Optimist member Jason Booth was recognized for his ongoing commitment to the club and the community. Lt Governor Barb and Gorden Holly presented Jason with an award on behalf of the district governor called the "Governor's Feather"
The second award is a certificate of merit presented to Jason by Optimist president Chris Baines.

The Collingwood Optimist club and the Collingwood Blues 50/50 partnership came together to offer lifesaving training to local hockey coaches and staff. We have had over 20 participants.
I just wanted to take a moment to thank the Optimists for sponsoring the first aid training for Collingwood Lightning members. I am a trainer for the older girls and I found this training very helpful. Fingers crossed a lot of it won’t be needed but certainly feel more confident now if injuries do occur.
Thank you
Nancy Keith
First off, thank you so much for providing and sponsoring this initiative. I took Kathy’s course tonight and am incredibly grateful. I thought she was really amazing. Absorbing the information without worrying about an exam, and having the open dialogue was a total bonus.
I think every volunteer & bench staff whether a trainer or coach or helper/den mother would benefit from this.
Cheers, Ivy

I just thought I’d let you know that the feedback from tonight’s session was extremely positive. It sounds like the course was even more valuable then people had anticipated.
Thanks again for all of your work putting this together.

On Tuesday September 29th 2020 the Collingwood Optimist club held its AGM and voted in its 2020/21 executive team. Our club members and executives agreed to continue with the same executive team until spring 2021 where this will be looked at again.
One change to the executive team was Mr. Jason Booth as past president stepping down to spend more time on the clubs website and promotion. This has opened a spot on the executive team. Please help us welcome Mr. Craig Podborski as executive member at large.
